D&AD Dressing the Screen: The Rise of Fashion Film

I used sine waveforms to produce this image-led identity; the waveforms signify video distortions, but also folds of fabric, and the movement and spontaneity within Fashion, and Fashion Film. The identity is monochrome to honour the 75th year of Fashion Film and the black and white films that the exhibition begins with. There are gold embellishments on top of this, these are to add highlights throughout the identity in the way that jewellery enriches and supports clothing. The circle itself is a reference to the spotlight on a catwalk, and the lens of the fashion photographer and videographer, a rising sun could also be a metaphor for Fashion Films rise in prominence as a medium of expression for designers.

When in production the waveforms would be completely unique for every single piece of printed and digital material - no two waveforms would be the same.
Thank you!
